Feng Shui and Household Repairs (The Domestic Pagan)

I recently have been doing some repairs in my home and still have more to tackle. Sometimes it feels almost like it’s snowballing - as if the negative energy from one broken thing is spreading out like a virus to other parts of the house. I need to do some serious feng shui in my own home right now, so I decided to repost this!

What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui, which literally translates to “Wind and Water,” is the ancient Chinese art of placement. It is based on the understanding of the flow of energy (Ch’i) throughout ones inner and outer life (similar to the Hermatic principle of “as within, so without”). The tradition of Feng Shui believes the way a home is decorated and designed affects the lives of the people living in it. Feng Shui can be applied to your home, apartment, or office.

Feng Shui and Needed Home Repairs
Anything that doesn’t work correctly is a sign of something wrong in the area of your life that corresponds to that part of your space. Why? Broken things hold the energy of “being broke” (finances) or “broken” (not functionally properly). If you are surrounded by things that are broken, ripped, torn, stained, dirty, in disrepair, or not working these negative conditions represent a disregard for your home and for yourself. Conditions like cracks, holes, peeling wallpaper, or chipped paint, even dead plants represent negative or stagnant forces in your life since they block the flow of positive energy around you. Leaks can result in a drain on your finances, since in Feng Shui water represents abundance.
